Summer fun with Sadie

Mom came and stayed with Sadie and I this week and we got out Sadie's pool and went swimming. It was so fun to watch her. Also Sadie started eating "real" food last week and this week we discovered that she is allergic to eggs...or something. The never ending and ever so exciting adventures of Sadie!

Father's Day Fun

Father's Day weekend was great. Russ was home and we all went and took Dad out for Father's day on Saturday and then went to Russ' grandparents on Sunday. It was great to get to spend some quality time with everybody. My dad is so special to me and I know that Russ is so special to Sadie and Lana. Just really a great weekend.

Summer has started!

This is our second week of Summer vacation. Sadie and I are getting pretty lonley here since Lana is staying with her Aunt Lisa for part of the summer. I'm going to start working more at the gym though, so that should keep us busy. The hard part is keeping Sadie occupied while we're there. Nana came and stayed with us a couple of nights ago and kept Sadie while I went to work. Sadie hadn't been feeling all that well. She is much better now! Sadie and Nana tried on her new bathing suits! It was soooo cute. Also Sadie has discovered her little scooter. I think its her new favorite toy! Pretty soon she'll be scooting around so fast we won't be able to catch her!

More Mother's Day Weekend!!

This morning Sadie and I got up early and got ready to head to Perry to go to church with my parents. I had changed Sadie's diaper and put her in her crib while I got some clothes out...I turn to look at her and she is pulling up by the bumper! AHHHH! I flipped out and ran to try and find my camera, which was not in its usual place because I had already put it in my purse so that I wouldn't forget it! By the time i got back, she wasn't doing it anymore but she was still pretty stinkin cute!

When we arrived in Perry we went to the church. Sadie tried to make it through the church service and she was good but there were one too many spit bubbles and high squeals during prayer time, so Mom and I took her to the nursery and just played with her there.

We went back to mom and dads and had lunch and then Sadie and I took a nap!

We went to Pawnee to Grandma and Grandpas around 3:30 and stayed for a couple of hours to visit. They really don't get to see Sadie nearly like they should. AND surprisingly enough...it was just us and Grandma and Grandpa. No other little screaming kids...not a house full of people to try to wade through. It was nice and we all actually got to spend some time together!

This has truly been the best 1st mother's day I think anybody could have ever had! I enjoyed every minute of it!

I feel so blessed to have the mom I do and so blessed to be a mom to my sweet Sadie Baby!

Mother's Day Weekend

Today was a busy Saturday! It was Lana's last soccer game today and she was pretty distracted because her Aunt Lisa and two cousins were there! I think she has fun playing though!

We then went over to Russ' grandparents house and spent time with Uncle Robert and his new wife Tracey! We had a good time and I ate way too much! They are great people! It was nice to get to see them all and have them spend time with Sadie!

Oh to be bored again...

I'm really enjoying getting out of the house to work at the gym or sub but I really look forward to my days off now! Today was a busy day, I volunteered this morning at the middle school and then Mom and I ran around doing some shopping...like always! Then Katy and I set up mom with an appointment to get her hair cut by our hair girl as a mothers day gift. Her hair turned out really cute. Not that much different but a little trendy, it was cute.

Lana brought me a dozen pink roses this morning for mothers day and also brought me some flowers to plant from school! She also had actually weaved her own basket and she is very proud of it...don't think she was giving it to me though. I felt pretty special, regardless.

Sadie went with me this evening to work at the gym, it was only her and one other little boy! Nothing like being paid to pretty much watch your own kid!

Feeling very blessed today...and exhausted!

Officially out of the Mother of the year contest

Today started out with me having to get me and Sadie ready for the gym. I received a phone call about 7:30 from Lana saying that he school bag is still at our house...and this is one of the first times that I haven't been able to take her to school. So she asked me if I could drop it off at school for her. I told her I would....Strike one.

Sadie and I then went on to the gym so I could work in the child care. We had a pretty good morning then she was starting to get really cranky around 11:30. It was for sure nap time for my little mess. She is a creature of habit, no doubt, and likes to be at home in her swing to take a nap. Well, after work we had a little meeting with the child care workers and it didn't last very long so I was ready to get Sadie home for a nap. I sat Sadie in a chair so that I could grab all of my things....and even as I was doing it...I knew it was a bad idea. But I sat her down turned for not even a second and when I turned back around I saw little Miss Sadie's feet flying in the air. The child landed on her head. She cried, I wanted to cry. I still feel HORRIBLE. I knew better but yet did it anyway.

She had calmed herself before we even left the gym but she now has a little bruise and a knot on her little head! When we got home she crashed and then I was worried that she might have a concussion so I would go in her room about every 15-20 minutes and either thumb her foot or put my hand on her tummy to make sure she was still breathing.

I then began to contemplate what I would do if I tried to wake her up and she was in a coma.

No worries, she's fine. I think that maybe she's even forgiven me. Thank goodness she won't remember it...not because she hit her head and lost her memory but because she's too little...right...

I'm going to now, hang my head in shame and hold on to the hope that maybe the Mother of the Year award will still be in my future.

Oh My Sadie!

Sadie had a rough day today. I got called out of my step family class at church this morning because my child was mess! It was partly my fault because I had poked my head in after church to check on her and that started her on a tantrum. 20 minutes later, they couldnt handle her anymore and had to get momma! The child was passed out before we got home. She was just really tired. She then went to bed tonight at 6:45. I hope we're not starting a bad trend, where she gets up early and goes to bed early...gotta nip that in the bud.

We had fun together today though. She watched her Praise Babies video and was enthralled. She also loves her new Leap Frogs, Tad and Lily. She is so funny and it makes me smile just to think about it. Love her!

TGIF

Today started with Sadie waking up at 6 am saying...da da da da da da...over and over again. It was sooo cute but I couldn't drown it out. Then after Lana got here and it was almost time to go, I remembered that it was Muffins for Mom's at her school. I was dressed for the gym, meaning hair nasty...no make up...scary. I first thought about not reminding Lana and just going on to the gym, then I thought no, I better say something. So I told her I would go if she wouldn't be embarrased. She said no. So Sadie and I went this morning. I'm sure I was more embarrased than she was. I just know that it was important that someone be there with her.

So, I worked out, came home, did some laundry, and played with my Sadie...overall a pretty great day! I just feel so blessed to have both of the girls and a crazy husband who loves me even though I'm just as crazy!

My sister is a great photographer, she took these pics of Sadie in a little impromptu photo shoot in about 10 minutes in her back yard! Amazing! Of course the subject was pretty darn cute anyway!

Another day of Crazy!

Last night mom stayed the night with me because I was volunteering this morning at the middle school and we took Sadie in to wake up Lana! It was funny! Those girls are so funny to watch together! You can tell that they both absolutely adore each other!

When I got back home, Sadie was napping but everytime I leave Sadie with my mom, I come home and mom has been playing dress up! Too funny! Sadie thought she was pretty hot stuff!

Nana and Lana left and so I got my little Miss Cranky pants to bed!

Tomorrow is work and Miss Sadie gets to go with me. I just hope she's a good little girl!

I'm Tired!

Today Sadie and I did a lot of running around! We went and played with Caraline and Aunt Katy this afternoon and Katy took a lot of adorable pictures of Sadie. Caraline and I played "honey and mommy" I was the honey and she was the mommy. Mommy yelled a lot! Ha! I wonder if that should tell Katy anything! LOL!

Sadie and I then went and picked up big sister Lana from school and then Nana came over. We took Lana to soccer practice which is always entertaining. You can always pick Lana out because she's the one laying on the ground, doing cartwheels, or playing in the dirt. But, I tell you what, when that girl makes a good play or has a good kick...it totally changes how she plays...then she's ready to get out there!

We finally made it home and got both girls to bed! Ready to head that way myself!
